Four Corner Flap Card - How To Video

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share the fun little card that I created during my Facebook Live on Wednesday night this week.  I created a fun little fun fold card inspired by Gloria Plunkett's design I found on Pintrest.  I loved this little card so much that I just had to make my own version of it.  Here's a look at my card that features the A Grand Kid Stamp Set and the Flowers For Every Season Designer Series Paper.

I love this card for one reason because it showcases both sides of your designer series paper.  Which I love!  I I don't have to worry to much about which side I am going to use because you can see both sides.  Which is always a problem when you use Designer Series Papers.  Sometimes you just can not decided which side to face up.  This takes card of that problem.

My sentiment came from the A Grand Kid Stamp Set which has some very fun sentiments that can be used for anyone not just a grandchild.  And considering I don't have kids or grandkids it's a good thing.  To make this card you will need four sheets of Designer Series paper cut at 2 1/2" x 1 7/8".  You are going to fold one corner down on each one to make the Four Corner Flap Card.  I measured in from one side a 1/2" on the bottom or top depending on which way your DSP will be facing.  And 1 1/8" from the side and made two little pencil marks to know where to score at.

Video Tutorial:

If you are viewing this post by email you may have to click here to view the video.  Not all mail servers like to show the embedded videos.

After cutting scoring and folding in the flaps on the designer series paper you are going to need something to put them on.  I used a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Just Jade Cardstock as my card front base.  I added each piece of the Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper to the card front with a little Stampin' Seal Adhesive with just a little 1/8" border around the edges.  My center border was just a little bigger.  I stamped my sentiment from the A Grand Kid Stamp Set in Just Jade Classic Ink and cut it out with the next to the smallest Stitched Square Die from the Stitched Shapes Dies.  I cut it where it created a diamond and placed it in the center of the card front with a couple Stampin' Dimensionals.  I added the card front to a Thick Whisper White card base cut at 4 1/4 x 11 (scored at 5 1/2).

Here's my Product Recipe card that contain the main parts of the card.  You can save this to one of your inspiration boards on Pinterest if you would like.  Thanks for dropping by today I hope that you have a wonderful weekend.  If you need any of the supplies you have seen today they can be picked up in my Online Store by clicking on the items in the Shopping List below.

Gorgeous Posies Project Kit & Rick's Kit Night

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you the Gorgeous Posies Project Kit and the cards that you can make from this kit.  Stampin' Up! kits are great for everyone.  If you are new to crafting, or you are a seasoned crafter you will find the kit that's right for you.  Stampin' Up! offers four different types of kits; you have Subscription kits (Paper Pumpkin), All Inclusive Kits, Project Kits, and Product Medleys.  We are going to be talking about the Gorgeous Posies Project Kit today but before I get to far into this kit let me share with you a look at this kit.

The Gorgeous Posies Project Kit:

The Gorgeous Posies Project Kit is as the name says a Project Kit.  Meaning it's a little different from the Paper Pumpkin Subscription Kit and All Inclusive Kits.  A project kit is a a selection of products with predesigned projects.  Almost all of the supplies you need to make the projects comes inside the kit.  With the exception of a Stamp Set, ink and adhesive.  They are designed for someone that may have a few supplies on hand but wants to make some fun quick cards but don't want to do any design work.  You get precut supplies ready to make the kit you just have to provide a few extra things.

Here's a look at everything that comes inside the Gorgeous Posies Project Kit.  I especially love the box that the supplies come in with this kit.  It will hold all the precut supplies and the finished cards once you have made them all.  This kit comes with the supplies to make 16 cards 4 each of 4 designs and matching Purple Posy and Highland Heather Envelopes.  I sat down a few weeks ago and made the cards (as instructed in the instructions) for this kit in about an hour and a half.  Yes, I made all sixteen cards in that amount of time and I followed the directions.  I normally will end up going rouge after a little while but I actually made them all according to the included directions, and I had a blast doing so.  For this project kit you will need the Gorgeous Posies Stamp Set, Ink Pads in Blackberry Bliss, Blushing Bride, Highland Heather, and Gorgeous Grape.  Along with your bone folder, paper snips and the following adhesives; Stampin' Seal, Stampin' Dimensionals, and Mini Glue Dots.  The Mini Glue dots are not listed in the supplies but I found them very helpful with a few of the projects.  Here's a look at the Gorgeous Posies Stamp Set.

Closer look at the Cards from the Kit:

Let's look at the cards that the Gorgeous Posies Project Kit makes shall we.  I took pictures of each of the cards that I made using this project kit just so that I could give you a closer look at how cute these cards really are.  Sometimes the pictures in the catalogs and website are not close enough to see them really well.

Rick's Kit Night:

I love our kits so much that I have decided to hold a Stampin' Up! Kit Night.  I know if you are like me you may have a Stampin' Up! Kit sitting around your house that you have not put together yet.  So I wanted to have a crafting night and we all get together and put one of our kits together.  You don't have to buy a Stampin' Up! kit to attend if you already have one.  You can bring a Paper Pumpkin Kit, a All Inclusive Kit, a Project Kit, or a Product Medley.  It can be current or retired as long as it's a Stampin' Up! Kit.  I wanted us all to beat the heat and during this time it's a great way to get together and do a little crafting.

My Kit night will be held on Tuesday, July 20th at 7 pm CST via my Zoom craft room.  You have until Monday July 19th to register for this free event.  You can register by clicking here.  I hope that you will join me for a fun night of crafting.
Thanks for dropping by today I hope that you have a wonderful day.  If you would like to order one of the Kits you will find all the items I used to make it in the Shopping List below.

You're Seriously the Best - Ornate Styles Stamp Set

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you a fun little card that doesn't take a lot of supplies and has a technique that everyone should learn so that you can beautiful cards relatively quickly.  My card today features the Emboss Resist Technique.  Which is a fun and easy technique to know how to do because you can make it look clean and simple, more elebrate, or bright and fun.  All depending on how you layer the colors.  I went with bright and fun today.  Here's a look at my card.

I used the Ornate Styles Stamp Set from the 2020-2021 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog as the main focus on my card.  I stamped the large floral image in Versamark ink and then added White Stampin' Emboss Powder to it.  I then heat set the embossing powder using my Heat Tool set on the high setting.  Which is the setting you want to use when heat embossing.  Another tip is to let it heat up for a few minutes before putting the heat to your cardstock.  By doing this it helps the embossing powder melt a little faster and prevents your paper from wrapping.

I then masked off (using low tack tape) the area I didn't want ink to be.  I started with this card by adding a piece of tape down the center of the card to make a plus sign.  I then masked off from corner to corner of the little rectangle I created  I used the Brights Family of Ink Pads and a blending blush to apply the colors.  I started Poppy Parade and did my ink blending in that area.  Next, I removed the tape that was masking of the other side of that rectangle and placed it over the Poppy Parade side.  I then ink blended in the bottom part with Gorgeous Grape Classic Ink.  I repeated the process in each rectangle and alternated the colors between on of the Brights Ink Pads to create a nice pretty Rainbow of color all the way around my card front.

After all the ink blending was complete I removed all the low tack tape (which by the way I use Post it Tape) I was left with this fun colorful pattern.  I love the play of the geometric shapes with the floral image.  I can not remember what stamp set the sentiment came from but I stamped it in Versamark and covered it in White Stampin' Emboss powder and trimmed it down to a very thin banner to add t the front of the card.  When I made this card the Adhesive Backed Sequins where still a current item but they have been retired and replaced by the even better Artistry Blooms Sequins (which have no hole in the middle of them).
After adding the sentiment strip and the sequins I added the card front to a Basic Black Mat cut at 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 and attached this entire piece to my Thick Whisper White card base that was cut at 4 1/4 x 11 and scored at 5 1/2.  Thanks for dropping by today I hope that you will give this masking ink blending and emboss resist style of card I try.  I know that you will love doing it.  You will find a full list of the available products in the shopping list below.
