My Memorable Mosaic Hummingbird Swap Card

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you a card that I made for a card swap back in May.  I picked products from the Mosaic Mood Suite to create my swap card with.  For those that don't know what a swap card is I will briefly explain it for you.  This is the general jest of it; you make so many cards that are all the same and then you go to a event and you exchange one of your cards for one from someone else.  So you are really making a even exchange of ideas.  The swap that I took part in was a mail swap.  We all signed up and then mailed the correct numbers of swaps to the host and they switched them all out with other peoples swap cards.  Okay so enough of the details let's look at the card shall we.

As I said I picked products from the Mosaic Mood Suite in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog.  If you have your catalog these products are on pages 119-120.  This suite of products was designed with mosaic tiles in mind.  The designer series paper is not just a run of the mill designer series paper. It has a raised embossed like feel to different elements of this fun nature filled pack.  The raised images have a clear transparent coating on top that gives the look of a freshly waxed tile floor.

To create my swap card I took some of this lovely designer series paper and I cut it down to 4 x 5 1/4.  I then created a mat using Mint Macaron Cardstock to 4 1/8 x 5 3/8.  I layered both of those together and then placed that on my Terracotta Tile Card base (4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2).
I used some of the Mint Macaron 1/4" textile ribbon as a accent on the front of the card.  I didn't want anything super over powering.  I wanted to really showcase this designer series paper.  Pictures do not do it justice on how pretty it is in real life.  When I was at OnStage in Charlotte back in April I wasn't impressed with it just from the pictures I saw.  But once I saw it in person I was like omg that is amazingly pretty.  So I knew with wanting to really show off it's beauty I would have to keep everything else super simple.
For the greeting I used one from the Memorable Mosaic Stamp Set.  But again I couldn't pick something that was going to out do the paper so I picked the stamp that had a simple greeting but wasn't to busy but would draw a little attention.  I stamped the Sending all Happy wishes stamp in Terracotta Tile Ink and then punched it out using the Timeless Label Punch.  Which by the way you can get both the Memorable Mosaic Stamp Set and the Timeless Label Punch together in a cost saving bundle.  I just wanted you to be aware of that.  Also you can order products from the entire suite with one item number; which is something new with this catalog.
Thanks for dropping by today; I hope that you found a little inspiration from my little card.  If you need any of the supplies you have seen today you can pick them up in my online store.

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop: A Little Smile

Hello and welcome to my blog; today you may have noticed that we are a little later than normal.  That's because I am taking part in this month's A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop.  The blog hop goes live a little later than my normal post.  This month we are showcasing alternative projects for the A Little Smile June 2019 Paper Pumpkin Kit.  This kit was designed to give you small little cards to be used for Random Acts of Kindness (RAK cards).  Here's a look at my alternative projects.
I created a larger card from the smaller cards in the set and a desk organizer/card box to put those cards in along with some stamps and other post it notes.  That way you have everything right at hand to send out your cards.

Video Tutorial:

If you are viewing my post by email you will have to click on the image below to view the video.

Closer Look:

Here's a little closer look at both of my projects.
For my card I used one of the little rak cards to create the focal image for my larger card.  I used a piece of coastal cabana cardstock and created a top folding A2 size card.  I stamped the background using three of the images from this month's stamp set.  I then added accents from this month's kit.  Here's a closer look at this month's stamp set and the supplies that came in the kit.
For my dimensional project I created a little desk/card organizer for A2 size cards.  The desk organizer will hold about five or six cards, as well as some post it notes and stamps, plus you can place your business cards in the front little bin.  I created this from just one sheet of crumb cake cardstock; not bad if you ask me.
Well, that's my projects for this month I hope that you have enjoyed them both.  If you would like to get Paper Pumpkin you can do so by signing up here.  If you are viewing this post on my wordpress blog you will need to click here to view the blog roll.

Magical Mermaid for #PCC342

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am share my card for this week's Paper Craft Crew Challenge.  This week's challenge is a tic tac toe challenge.  I used the Magical Mermaid Stamp Set by Stampin' Up! for my card today. Here's a look at my card.

Here's a look at the challenge card that inspired my card today.
If you would like to play along with us you can click on the image above to add your project.

I've Got Whosits and Whatsits Galore:

So I decided to do a Mermaid card and I just so happened to have the perfect stamp set, it had just came in earlier this month.  I decided I wanted to do a card and use mainly my Stampin' Blends.  So I stamped the mermaid, seaweed and sand and then stamped them on some Avery Repositionable labels to use as masks.  I stamped the seaweed first and then masked it off.  Next I stamped the sand and masked it and then the mermaid and I masked her.  Once I had everything stamped and masked that needed to be it was time to remove the masks and do a little coloring.
I started the coloring process with the mermaids tail and used Granny Apple Green and Old olive blends and then threw in a little mossy meadow just to add just a little more shading.  I then colored her body with ivory, bronze, and the color lifter.  Next I colored her hair with my daffodil delight, soft suede, and so saffron.  After she was done it was time to do the seaweed and the sand.  I used the same greens for the foreground and crumb cake and soft suede for the sand.
The water was done using Seaside Spray (light and dark), Night of Navy (light) and a tiny bit of the dark Night of Navy.  I worked it until I had the scene I wanted.  I built up each layer of the background until I had some depth to the image.  After all that was done I added a little white gel pen to the movement in the water and some clear wink of stella to her hair and tail to add a little sparkle.
I attached her to a Seaside Spray mat which was cut at 5 1/8 x 3 5/8.  My card base is night of navy that was cut in half at 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2.
I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy and added a few rhinestones to finish the card off.  I added a piece of whisper white to the inside of the card so I had a place to write my message.  And that finishes my card for today.  If you need any of the supplies you can order them in my online store by clicking on the images below.
