Wrapped Bouquet Mother's Day Card - Video Tutorial

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share a card that you can make for Mother's Day and I did a little no line coloring just for fun.  I used the Wrapped Bouquet Bundle to create the focal point for my card today.  Yes, it's been awhile since I shared a post; that's a whole other topic for another day.  Here's a look at my card.

Warm & Toasty - Watercolor Card The Spot Challenge #133

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you my card for this week's color challenge at the Spot.  I used the Warm & Toasty Stamp Set today and created a super cute little card using a watercolor background.  I used a negative painting technique to create the background for my card.  The only colors that I used for my card were the ones for the challenge.  Here's a look at my card.

The Spot Creative Challenge #131 - CASE the Designer Challenge

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you my card for this week's Creative Challenge over at the Spot.  This weeks challenge is a CASE the Designer Challenge and we are CASEing the work of Sara Levin the Artful Inker.  To play along with this challenge you just have to pick one of her projects and CASE it.  Case means to copy and share everything or Copy and selectively edit.  I picked a beautiful Fall themed card that Sara had design to CASE today.  I will share the card that was my inspiration and the challenge image just a little later in this post.  But first here is the card that I cam up with.

Below you will find the inspiration that I picked for my card today as well as this week's challenge image.  You can click on the challenge image to play along with us this week.  I also linked to Sara's blog post for the card that I picked to CASE.

Sara created this beautiful card using the Forever Fern Stamp Set and some wonderful Fall colors as well as a few other Fall themed product from both the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog and the August-December Mini Catalog.  On my version of Sara's lovely Fall card I used the Love of Leaves Stamp Set as my background images in the same colors that she used.  I used Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, Pretty Peacock, Mint Macaron, Crumb Cake, and Mossy Meadow inks the same way that Sara did.

I did change the format of my card to a portrait style card.  I stamped the leaves in the colors listed above minus Crumb Cake, and Mint Macaron going around my 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Whisper White Cardstock.  I keep the Gold Hoop Embellishments that Sara used on her card also and two of the pumpkins that she watercolored and die cut using the Autumn Essentials Dies but instead of using the large pumpkin from Harvest Hellos I choice to add the large leaf image from the Gather Together Stamp Set instead.  I attached the Gold Hoop Embellishments with Mini Glue Dots before adding the pumpkins and the leaf that I watercolored using Mint Macaron Crumb Cake and Pretty Peacock Inks with my Water Papers with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I matted the card front onto a Pretty Peacock mat cut at 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" to my Crumb Cake card base..  I then heat embossed my hello sentiment in Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder onto a strip of Pretty Peacock Cardstock the same as Sara.  I also added the Metallic Ribbon from the Basket Weave and Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack under the heat embossed sentiment.  I hope that you will play along with us this week over at the Spot. I love Sara's card and I think you will have fun CASEing her this week as well.  If you need any of the supplies that I used today you can find them im my online store by clicking on the item in the shopping list below.

Jar of Flowers Gatefold Card The Spot Challenge #127

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you my card for this week's challenge over at the Spot.  This is my second day of only using supplies that are in the Suggested Starter Kit and with the Get & Go Joining Special.  This week's challenge at the Spot is all about Fun Folds.  I used the Jar of Flower Bundle and the Four Season Floral Stamp Set on my card today.  Here's a look at my card.

I started my card wondering how was I going to make a fun fold card with just the little supplies have given myself to work with this week.  Since I was not allowing myself the full pantry of my creative supplies just how was I going to pull this off.  I was only allowed the supplies in my box, I wasn't allowing myself to pull more stamp sets, cardstock, inks or embellishments.  The whole reason I wanted to do this this week was to show others that may not have a lot of supplies that you can create beautiful cards with very little.  It's was all in how you used it.

So, once I got over the hurdle and was sprinting towards the finish line I knew that I would be able to create whatever I wanted using just what I had preselected on my studio day Friday.

I plundered through my chosen box of supplies like a pirate taking over a ship while at sea, and found the supplies that I wanted to use.  Once the looting was complete it was time to move on the creating.  I grabbed my Bumblebee Ink Pad and the sunflower image from the Jar of Flowers stamp set along with some Whisper White Cardstock and started making my own DSP (Designer Series Paper).  This was something that I loved to do when I first started this journey five years ago.  So, it was natural to go back to this with just the few supplies a had allowed myself to create with this week.

The best tip I can give you when you are creating this way is to go for it and have fun.  Make sure when you are stamping your own DSP that you rotate and move the stamp in different directions each time you add the luxurious ink to paper.  This will create a more interesting design and all the stamped images to fit onto the cardstock so much better.  This is also a way to have visual interest for you card when you are doing repetitive stamping.

Once I had both pieces of my Whisper White cardstock stamped it was time to add them to the card base.  I took both ends of my Coastal Cabana Cardstock and folded them in towards the middle.  Then I used my bone folder to give each side a nice crisp fold.  Once that was done I added my handmade designer series paper to each side of the gate fold.

I then took a piece of the Daffodil Delight Cardstock and added it to one side of the gate fold with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I stamped my sentiment in Bumblebee Ink at the bottom of a small piece of Whisper White cardstock and added it to the Daffodil Delight piece.  By the way the sentiment came from the Four Season Flowers that set that I used yesterday.  If you missed that card and want to check it out I will link it here.  I then stamped the mason jar from the Jar of Flowers Stamp Set onto another scrap of Whisper White in Just Jade Ink.  I took the smaller image from the stamp set and stamped the outline of the water.  I then cleaned this stamp and flipped it over and stamped the water. Making sure to stamp off once to get a lighter color in the same Just Jade color.  The Jar of Flowers stamp set is a Reversible Stamp Set meaning that most of the images can be stamped on both sides.

I then punched out the jar with the matching Jar Punch and added it to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I stamped the sunflowers onto another scrap of Whisper White Cardstock In Bumblebee Ink and used a blender pen to add a little color.  I took my paper snips and cut it out and added it to the card front to make it look like the flowers where coming out of the jar.  I finished off the front with a few Basic Rhinestones.

I then cut another piece of Whisper White Cardstock to 4" x 5 1/4" and stamped the same sunflower image that I used for the entire card in the top right and bottom left corners.  I then added this to the inside of the card with Stampin' Seal Adhesive.

Here is the inspiration image for this week's challenge.  If you want to check out what the other design team members came up with you can click here to do that and to play along.  Thanks for dropping by today:  I hope that you have wonderful day and if you need any of the supplies you can get them in my online store or by adding them to your Starter Kit when you join my team this month.
