I think that it's super important to remember that as humans we always need to grow. It maybe in life, it may be in experiences, it may even be in our personal lives but we all need to remember to grow. And this card is a great one to make and send to people to help them remember and encourage them of that little thing and that you are there for them.
Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am feeling very tropical. So, I created a card using some very tropical items. I was inspired by some of the pictures that I had been seeing all last week of fellow demonstrators on the Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip to Maui. Here's a look at my card.
Inspiration for my projects comes from so many places. But, I found all the pictures of all the tropical flowers that my friends and fellow demonstrators on the Maui trip were sharing of the florals from Maui so inspiring that I had to create a fun tropical floral card.
Hello and welcome to my blog: Today I am going to share with you a fun technique that will stretch your stamp collection and allow you to make some fun unexpected cards as well. Sometimes there's nothing more attractive then a sunset on a cold winter day. Then you add to that a bold graphic figure in silhouette and your heart will start to go pitter pat. There's just something about those beautiful bold colors in the sky either as the sun is raising or starting to set paired with the dark image in front of it that is just so very striking. That's exactly what I did for my card today, I brought both of these wonderful things into my card today. Let's have a look at my project shall we.
Tips & Tricks:
Creating this look isn't as hard as you may think; as long as you have the right mind set and tools to create it. Anytime I create one of these types of cards I always start with Masking off anything that needs to be the white of the paper. Next comes my sunset area. Because, it's one of the main draws to the card and one of the most crucial parts. If you don't have your sky right people will be drawn to it. The trick to ink blending is to just keep going until you're happy with the way it looks. Sometimes it may take up to 30 minutes or longer to get the ink to blend jsut right. But, if you keep going back and forth between the colors it will start to blend out. My go to sunset colors are Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry, and either a little Blackberry Bliss or Night of Navy.
After the sky is nice and blended I can peel off my snow mound masks and start stamping my silhouette images. The most common way of stamping these images are with solid image stamps, but you can do it the way I did today with regular plain stamps. It just adds in an extra step, but what's one more step to getting a beautiful card, right?
Once I had the penguins stamped out on the card front I then came back and simply colored them in with my Basic Black Stampin' Blends. Yep, that was all I had to do to get these bold images to appear they were in silhouette. So, What stamps do you already own can you do this technique with to get a new look from your stamp collection? I bet you can think of about 10 sets you haven't touched in a long time. I highly encourage you to give both of these techniques a try and breath a little new life into your stamp collection. Hello and welcome to my blog for the second post today; In this post we will be talking about this weeks Simple Stamping Card. This week the retiring list was announced if you missed that post you can see it here. Sadly on that list was the All Good Things Stamp Set, but also on that list was the 2017-2019 In Color Stampin' Write Markers. I don't think a lot of people realize what you can do with the Stampin' Write Markers so for this weeks simple stamping card and video I wanted to show you one great technique that you can use these markers for.
Did you know that you could use them to stamp multiple colors on one image all at once? If you are just starting out you may have not known this little trick. This technique is a great way to get more bang for your buck. You basically get five ink pads with just one small purchase. I used all five of the out going in colors one this one image. I did have to use one additional color to do the image. In addition to the 2017-2019 In Colors was a Soft Suede marker for the tree trunk, this way it looks like a natural tree. I colored the image in all the colors all at once and then I huffed (a couple deep breaths) onto the inked up image to remoisten the ink on the stamp. By doing this it will allow you to get a nice impression each time. The warmth of your breath helps the ink to moisten back which allows it to transfer.
When you first start stamping you may want to do a image just like this but you don't own a stamp positioner, or you may not have all the ink pads. You probably only own a few supplies so the Stampin' Write Markers are a great addition to add to your collection. Because, you can get them and you have every color of ink in this small slender tube. Plus another great thing is you can purchase them all at once in the Many Marvelous Marker set or you can also buy them in color family for a little cheaper price up front. And for some beginning stampers this is very important. The in color families always come out in new sets of five every year. Each group is out for two years before they are retired. This year the leaving colors are the 2017-2019 In Colors (Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst, Tranquil Tide, Powder Pink, and Fresh Fig). They will probably sale fast since they have been on the retiring list and they are very popular colors.
This is one of the best things for new stampers to learn because it will open up a whole new world for your crafting and stamping. I also used the whisper white note cards to produce today's simple stamping card.
