Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you my project for this month's Blogging Friends Blog Hop. This month's theme was Winter Blues - Blue Monochromatic Cards. You will find the pictures of my project below. PSST I am also going to share a little sneak peek at two of my favorite products from the January-June Mini Catalog that comes out in a few weeks on my project today as well. You will be able to order these products starting on January 4, 2021.
Sneak Peek:
To create my card today I used the Butterflies & Flowers Layering Decorative Masks to create my focal image on the card. These fun little masks are a great way to create a big impact on a project with very little work. It's a little masking, a little ink blending, and layering of colors to create a fun dramatic layered bouquet of flowers on your projects. I also used the upcoming Amazing Thanks Dies which have dies for both the shadow and inside image for the words Thanks, you, are, and amazing that you can add to any project.
I started out by cutting a piece of Basic White Cardstock to 4" x 5 1/4". I then placed the first set of masks on the card stock and used a little masking tape to mask off the areas I didn't want the ink to go through. I then used my Blending Brushes to apply the ink colors. I started out with the lightest color first. I started out with Pool Party ink and then applied the second layering mask and used Coastal Cabana Ink with that layer. With the large flowers I tapped on a little Bermuda Bay Ink in the center of the flowers.
Next I added a few additional flowers in Balmy Blue and Pacific Point Inks. Then I added two types and shades of leaves in Pacific Point and Night of Navy Inks. After I got all the leaves that I wanted on the card front I used the left over ink on the Blending Brush to ink blend from the corner with the flower bouquet up creating an ombre effect. After that I ran the panel through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine with the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder to create a little more texture and interest on the card.
I then attached the focal image to a 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" panel made from Night of Navy Cardstock before adding it to the 4 1/4" x 11" Basic White Thick Cardstock base. To add the final touches to the card I cut a label die from Vellum Cardstock using the Hippo & Friends Dies. I then cut the shadow and inside of the Thanks die from the Amazing Thanks Dies from Basic White & Night of Navy Cardstocks. I attached them together with a little Multipurpose Liquid Glue and attached it to the label die cut the same way.
I finished off the card by adding a sentiment from Penguin Place Stamp Set that I embossed on a strip of Night of Navy Cardstock before adding it to the label with a little piece of Adhesive Foam Strips. Once I had everything together I attached the label to the card front with a little Multipurpose Liquid Glue placed behind the Thanks die cut on the vellum. I then added a few Blue Adhesive Backed Gems to the card to add a little sparkle and shine to the card.
