Disappearing Nine Patch - Whimsy & Wonder - Video Tutorial
Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you the project that I made during this weeks Coffee & a Card with Rick yesterday. During my Friday morning YouTube Live I shared how to make this fun technique based off of a quilt pattern called a Disappearing Nine Patch. This is a great way to featuring your favorite designer series paper. I used the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty Designer Serie Paper on my card.
Tips & Tricks:
For this version of the card I used the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty Designer Series Paper from the July-December Mini Catalog. Conventional patterns meet an unconventional color scheme in the Whimsy & Wonder Designer Specialty Series Paper. This paper is a lovely choice for those who want to celebrate the spirit of the season. Images include gifts, trees, snowflakes, and more. And once the holidays are done, use the versatile stripes and tone-on-tone patterns for all of your projects. This papercrafting staple is great scrapbook paper, card making paper, and more!
When you are doing this technique one of the most important tips I can give you is to make sure your nine squares are perfect squares. So, I would recommend using Square Dies or a Square punch in the size you want them to be. For example my nine are are 1" squares. But if you are the slightest bit off in your cutting then you will have a odd size patchwork when complete. Here's how you do the technique in the video:
