Hello and welcome to my blog; today I have a fun little 12" x 12" Fall Themed scrapbook page for you. This page has a very unique feature that showcases some of the Beauty of The Earth Designer Series Paper. Here's a little sneak peek!
Cathedral Window:
I cut out about twenty 2" circles from a couple sheets of the Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper. And used the square template and my Bone Folder to fold up all the sides of the die cut circles to make the Cathedral Window blocks. Back during the summer I had a add on class to my Spring/Summer Retreat that made a Cathedral Window Home Décor Sampler. If you are interested in that tutorial you can pick it up in my Online Tutorial Store as an instant download. I had seen these done in a couple of videos when I first started crafting, but had forgotten about them until the 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog came out this year and on one of the pages was a picture of some designer series paper made into the little Cathedral Window blocks. So, I had to do a little research and learn how to make them. Below is the catalog image I am talking about.

So, after the class I did in the Spring/Summer Retreat I had to give it a go again, but wanted to use them as elements on a scrapbook page instead. Depending on which side of the designer series paper (DSP) that you have facing up when you fold is which pattern will show up in the center. I will tell you that your Take Your Pick Tool and Bone Folder are fabulous tools to have on hand to make all the folding easier. The paper piercing end of the Take Your Pick Tool will allow you to left the corner of the circle up with easy. Especially when you have no fingernails or stubby little fingers like I do.
Once I had all the circles folded I laid them all out on my 12" x 12" piece of Cinnamon Cider Cardstock which came from the 2020-2022 In Color 12" x 12" Cardstock Pack. And, by the way you get 20 sheets of the 12" x 12" cardstock with four sheets each of the five 2020-2022 In Colors. So, plenty to use for scrapbooking and other projects. Once I had all of the blocks laid out I went back in and added them in the pattern I wanted attaching each with a little Multipurpose Liquid Glue. I found the liquid glue to be the best option for this because I had time to move them around to get them back in place. I started at the bottom and worked my way up. Once they were all attached I then cut off the ones that were sticking out over the edges.
Next I added my mat for my 4" x 6" photo for the page. I cut a piece of Merry Merlot Cardstock to 4 1/4" x 6 1/4" so that I had a nice boarder around the picture that I will add later. I then stamped some leaves using the Love of Leaves Stamp Set in Bumblebee, Merry Merlot, Cajun Craze, and Cinnamon Cider Classic Inks onto some Basic White Cardstock. I used the matching Stitched Leaves Dies to cut them each out before adding them to the page. I added a little Linen Thread for a little more texture to the page and added interest.
