Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am excited to announced that I am a New Design Team Member for the 3D Thursday Group. We are doing a blog hop to kick off the new season. Each one of use used the Mini Jam Jars to create a project for you for the hop. You will be able to check out some fabulous designs during the hop today. Here's a look at my project.
So for my project I created a Halloween Treat Holder to hold a Mini Jam Jar filled with candy. I actually made the treat holder in two different pieces and glued them together with a strong adhesive so that they could be picked up and moved around. I started off by cover the start of the jar with a piece of the Cute Halloween Designer Series Paper cut to 3 3/4" x 3 3/4". I just molded the paper around the lid and secured in place with a couple Mini Glue Dots and then added the Black & White Gingham Ribbon around the top and tied it into a bow.
For the base of the box I cut a piece of Basic Black Cardstock. I added a few pieces of the Cute Halloween Designer Series Paper to the Front and the two sides of the box. Before putting it together I used the Scalloped Contour Dies and cut out the decorative edge on the two sides. I then made the back panel from one piece of Basic Black that I scored once. I attached the box to the flap and the back. I cut my Pumpkin Pie Cardstock to size and added the matching Cute Halloween Designer Series Paper to the back.
I stamped my sentiment from the Cutest Halloween Stamp Set in Pumpkin Pie Ink unto a scrap of Basic White Cardstock and used the Layering Circle Dies to cut out the sentiment and the layering circle behind it (in Highland Heather Cardstock). I attached the sentiment to the back and my little treat box is ready to give. You can download the FREE PDF Tutorial for my project by clicking here!

Adorable project, Rick! I love how you used the Scalloped Contour Dies to create the scalloped edge for your box...great detail! Thanks for sharing, and welcome to the team!
ReplyDeleteThanks I actually used the scalloped die from the Peony Dies. I had first thought about Scalloped Contour dies but it was a little to big for the sides. I am super excited to be on the team this year.
