Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you a fun 3D project that you can make to spruce up your craftroom or any room in your house all summer long. Here's a look at my project.
To start off the project you are going to need a wreath. I just picked up one at my local Dollar Tree because they are good quality (normally and they are only a dollar). Most stores (unless it's my local one) has a lot of different style and size wreaths. So, I am sure you can find one that you love. You can find wreaths at any big box store as well, I went with this one because I had it on hand to create a project with.
For the flowers I found an SVG file on Cricut Design Space and used it to cut out the flowers from some Pale Papaya, Fresh Freesia, and Polished Pinks Cardstock. I also cut out some leaves that was included in the SVG file from Soft Succulent Cardstock. All my other leaves I cut from Soft Succulent, and Evening Evergreen Cardstock using the Forever Flourishing and Dandy Wishes Dies. So, I did a lot of die cutting to be able to get enough foliage to place behind the flowers.
On each petal of the flowers and most of the foliage I sponged the edges with the coordinating ink color that matched the cardstock. I just sat down one night and went to town sponge while watching tv. The next day I took all my sponged pieces back to the studio and sat down with my hot glue gun and glued everything in place. For the flowers I had to use a little extra step to get them in place. I had to use a tooth pick and run them through the middle and then add the hot glue to place them. This allowed them to stay in the right position until the glue dried.
Next I finished off the wreath by adding some dragonflies that I stamped and punched out using the Dragonfly Garden Bundle. I also snipped the wings off and replaced them with vellum ones that I coated with some Clear Wink of Stella to add a little more shine and sparkle to the project. I then glued them in place on the flowers and added a simple loop bow with the Evening Evergreen Open Weave Ribbon. After that all I had to do was hang the project.
