Feel Better Friend Card - Hand Penned Petals ~ Rick Adkins

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share a card that I made using the Hand Penned Petals Bundle from Stampin' Up! in the 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog. I actually CASEd this card based on a fun little gift box from the catalog.

From 3D to Card:

As I mentioned above I CASEd a 3D project from the Annual Catalog from the Hand Penned Suite. I saw this little project in the catalog and thought it was super cute but wanted to make a card inspired by it. Below you will find the box that I am talking about that inspired my card today.

So, when I saw this box I thought it was super cute and pretty and wanted to recreate it, but when I sat down to create with this inspiration I didn't want to to just recreate it. I wanted to do something similar but a little different. So, I created a card based off this super cute little box. I used the same products and changed it to a card instead. So, don't be afraid to take something you see in the catalogs and make it your own.

I used the same layout and created a card using the design. I have the same stamped image used from the Hand Penned Petals Bundle on the front of the card as the box. I colored it close to the same with my Stampin' Blends. I used Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, and Pale Papaya Blends to color the flowers and stem. I took one of the Square Vellum Doilies and a Sponge Dauber and colored it with Highland Heather Classic Ink. Which is a super simple process if you don't know how to do that you can watch this video where I do that on a different card.

I then added the colored Square Vellum Doily to the card front which I added some of the Hand Penned Designer Series Paper to. I then added the flower cluster and created the sentiment embellishment. The reason I called this a sentiment embellishment was because the ribbon and sentiment are all one element. I took a scrap of Highland Heather Cardstock and die cut a circle from it using the Layering Circle Dies. I then stamped the sentiment in the same ink color in the center. Next I took and punched a hole in the top with a hand held hole punch. I used the White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon and tied a pretty bow and attached it to the circle with a little white twine from the Baker's Twine Essential Pack and trimmed off the extra. I then had one little element that I could add to the card by placing a couple Stampin' Dimensionals behind it.

To finish off the card I added a few of the Genial Gems around the card to add a little bling. Super cute right! So, in closing don't think of your catalogs as just something to look at to purchase products there are a ton of ideas inside that you can take inspiration from. If you see something that you like figure out how to recreate it or to create something that was inspired by it.
