Being a Dad is Whiskey Business Square Starburst Card ~ Rick Adkins

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share a fun little card with you using the Whiskey Business Stamp Set and some of the Well Suited Designer Series Paper. I created this card for this weeks creative challenge over at the Spot Challenge Blog. This weeks creative challenge is all about masculine projects and its called Let's Hear it for the Boys. So, here's a look at the card.

Tips & Tricks:

My card is a 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" square card. I wanted to create something a little different this week, so I thought a square card would be fun. For the background of my card I cut 1 1/2" x 4" strips of the Well Suited Designer Series Paper in patterns that I had left over from other projects. I then cut the strips on the diagonal before attaching each strip to the card base.

I love that the starburst uses scraps of designer series paper because I can use up these often forgotten pieces or pieces that I just didn't know what to do with because they were a weird size or shape. I then stamped the decanter and glass onto a piece of Basic White Cardstock in Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them with my Stampin' Blends. I added a shadow underneath each to ground the images. I added some reflective color into the shadows to give the picture a little more life.

The Creative Challenge:

This week at the Spot Creative Challenge the themed challenge is all about the boys and celebrating the men in your life. This weeks theme Let's Hear It for the Boys was a perfect one to play around with the Well Suited Designer Series Paper and the Whiskey Business Stamp Set. To finish off my card I added some of the Misty Moonlight Baker's Twine from the Well Suited Twine Combo Pack. I poked two holes on the side of the decanter top and ran the twine through and tied it into a bow I then added it to a Night of Navy mat before placing it on my card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
