Hello and welcome to my blog; today I have a super cute card to share with you using the Magic Inking Technique, the Butterfly Brilliance Bundle, and the Lovely You Stamp Set. This is a super fun technique and actually really easy. Plus it uses one of the most under used tools in our crafting stash. Here's a look at my card.
I told you it was a super cute card. I was not kidding about it. Did you notice the background? That's the most important and stand out feature of this card. If not if you look really close to the card you can see the images in the background. I did that with the Magic Inking Technique. I will link to my Facebook Live last week where I shared this technique and seven other ways to use your White Craft Pigment Ink. Here's that link for you incase you missed it.
It Really is Magic:
The Magic Inking Technique is super easy. You start with a Basic White panel and stamp small images all over this panel in White Craft Pigment Ink. Next is the hard part; you have to let the ink dry! The longer you let the ink dry the better your results. If you go in to early with the ink blending before the pigment ink is dry you will have a hot mess. Once the ink is dry completely (I can not stress that enough) then you can come in with your Blending Brushes or other ink blending tools and start the fun stuff.
For the ink blending I used the NEW 2021-2023 In Color Ink Pads and some Daffodil Delight Ink (I will explain why I used the Daffodil in a minute). The new 2021-2023 In Colors are Fresh Freesia (which I started with), Polished Pink, Pale Papaya, Soft Succulent, and Evening Evergreen. I threw in Daffodil Delight because I needed a transitional color between Pale Papaya and Soft Succulent. If I were to mix them together I would have gotten a muddy color. But by adding in the Daffodil Delight since its a yellow hue it blended nicely without mud between the two colors. This is because yellow is one of the primary colors used to make both greens and oranges. So, it was a great transition between the two.
To finish off my card I cut the panel down to 4" x 5 1/4" and added a Basic Black mat cut just 1/8" of an inch larger before placing it on my Thick Basic White card base. I then took some strips of the 2021 2023 In Color Cardstocks and placed them on a panel of Basic White and stamped the Butterfly Brilliance Background Stamp onto that panel with White Craft Pigment Ink. Added White Embossing Powder from the Basic Embossing Powders Collection and heat set them before cutting them out with the matching dies. I placed a sentiment strip of Pale Papaya (with the sentiment from the Lovely You Stamp Set) which I stamped using Tuxedo Black Ink at the bottom third of the card. I then placed some of the butterflies around the sentiment and added a few Basic Rhinestone Jewels for a little bling around the card also. I popped up some of the butterflies on Stampin' Dimensionals and others I just glued to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
