Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you the other card that I made with the left over pieces from my card on Friday for the Blogging Friends Blog Hop. If you missed that post you can check it out here. I used left over pieces from that card to create the focal image on today's card. I figured why not since I already have this heart laying around why not use it. Here's a look at that card.
I mean looking at that heart how could I have let it go to waste. It was just begging to be on a card. So I appeased the card gods and created this card. Really it wasn't that hard to do. I started off with a Thick Basic White card base cut at 4 1/4" x 11" and the rest just came together.
Tips & Tricks:
I started out by cutting a piece of Basic White Cardstock to 4" x 5 1/4" because I knew I wanted to create a split card. So I then cut a 4" x 4" piece of Real Red Cardstock and embossed it with the Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder. To enhance the embossing I took my Whisper White Craft Pad and a Sponge Dauber and lightly (ever so lightly) went over the embossed areas with the white pigment ink. After the pigment ink dried I cut the embossed cardstock at an angel and adhered it to the Basic White layer with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
I then wrapped two pieces of the Real Red Double Stitched Ribbon around the opening to hid the edges of the cut cardstock and provide a nice transition. I then placed the die cut heart onto the center of the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. At this point it was time for the sentiment. So I heat embossed the Happy and Day from the Well Said Stamp Set onto some Basic Black Cardstock strips with White Stampin' Emboss Powder. I did have to do a little stamp surgery to just get the word day by itself. But, that's okay I can just place the two words back together if I want to use that phrase latter. I then popped them up on Mini Stampin' Dimensionals onto the heart. I then die cut the word Valentine's from Real Red Cardstock using the Word Wishes Dies
.
Happy Stampin'
