Blogging Friends Blog Hop - February 2021 Red Hot Love

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am sharing  with you my project for this month's Blogging Friends Blog Hop.  This month's theme was Red Hot Love!  It's all about monochromatic cards using any shade of Red.  You could also use whites, black, and grays as accents.  Keep reading to check out my card for this month's hop.

As I just mentioned this month's theme was Red Hot Love with a monochromatic color scheme using any shade of Red.  I picked Real Red as my red of choice for my project.  I also used a technique that I saw the other day called the Floating Inlaid Technique.  Here's a look at my card.

Tips & Tricks:

The Floating Inlaid Technique was a lot easier than I expected it to be.  To start off you need to cut different size strips of Designer Series Paper.  This would be a great way to use scraps of cardstock or Designer Series Paper and use those scraps up.  Since I picked Real Red from Stampin' Up! as my color I pulled some Real Red Designer Series Paper from the Regals 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper.  I used my Paper Trimmer to trim these in different size strips ranging from 1/4", 1/2", 3/4" and 1".  I then used my Stampin' Seal+ to adhere these strips to a piece of Window Sheet.

I then took the largest heart die from the Many Hearts Dies and placed the DSP covered Window Sheet, heart die inside my Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and ran it through three or four times.  Then I took the two cutting plates, with the die and covered Window Sheet still inside, holding them tightly so nothing shifts and flipped them over.  I then ran them back through a couple more times.  This allowed me to get a great die cut on the window sheet.  Next I took some Basic White Cardstock that I applied the Adhesive Sheets on the back with the same die plus one of the other heart dies from the set and ran it through.  I also repeated that process with the floral die from the Many Hearts Dies with Basic Black Cardstock backed with the Adhesive Sheets.

The two left over hearts I saved for another card that I will share later this week.  I placed the two die cut pieces inside the window that I die cut.  I started with placing the Window Sheet where I wanted it on my card.  I then slide the white heart in place.  Inside the opening of that heart that I cut I placed the floral black heart.  I then stamped my sentiment in Versamark and covered it with White Stampin' Emboss Powder on a strip of Real Red Cardstock.  I cut this down to size and placed it in the center of the heart.  I placed the covered Window Sheet back in place with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals hidden behind the DSP.

To finish off my card I added a few Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels on the center of the flowers and around the card.  I also added some of the Real Red Double Stitched Ribbon around the card front and tied it in a bow.
