Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you my card for this week's creative challenge over at the Spot. This week we have a fun technique challenge to help inspire you. For my project this week I picked the Pretty Perennials Bundle to create with. Here's a look at my project.
Here's the inspiration image for this week's challenge. The challenge this week is all about splatters, spritzing, smooching, etc.
Tips & Tricks:
For my card today I did a lot of splattering of ink. To do this I first start out with the rightt cardstock. I perfect to use either Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper or Shimmery White Cardstock because they both can handle a lot of water. I have a tendency to use a lot of water mixed with my ink to get a good splatter. I used Soft Seaform, Rococo Rose, and Night of Navy Ink Refills and my Water Painters to do my Splttering today.
For my stamping I used the Pretty Perennials Stamp Set and the matching Perennial Petals Dies to cut them all out. I did have to fussy cut the word Happy out since there isn't a matching die. I also cut a vellum shadow of the Happy and placed behind it. This is super simple to do. Simple stamp and cut out your word and place on a piece of Vellum Cardstock. Take a pencil and trace around it as thick as you want the shadow and simply cut inside the line with your Paper Snips. Now I have the perfect shadow piece behind my sentiment.
I popped the word up with Stampin' Dimensionals. I placed the happy onto the vellum shadow with Mini Glue Dots and then placed the Stampin' Dimensionals behind the vellum. I then placed the vellum piece on to my circle that I cut out from the Paper Blooms Designer Series Paper that I placed a Night of Navy scalloped circle behind it. For my stamped images I cut out everything using my Mini Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. I finished off my sentiment by heat embossing a smaller sentiment on a strip of Night of Navy Cardstock with White Stampin' Emboss Powder.
To finish off my card I added some Basic Rhinestones that I colored with my dark Rococo Rose Stampin' Blend. Thanks for dropping by today.
