Prized Peony & Heal Your Heart Simple Gift Set - Video Tutorial
Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you a great idea for a quick simple gift set of handmade cards that you can make with very few supplies and make up a few and have on hand when you need a quick little gift for someone. Here's a look at my card and the gift set I whipped up.
As I mentioned this little gift set can be whipped up quite quickly if you have the supplies on hand. Each card is the same layout I just used some scraps of one color family to create each card along with it's matching ink. You could create them all from one color if you wanted. This entire process only uses a few supplies which makes it great for any level crafter especially a new or beginning crafter. It's just stamps, ink, and paper.
Tips & Tricks:
When I sat down and designed this project it quickly became apparent to me that the simple card I started out creating could be so much more. I realized it was the perfect quick design that you could make multiples of and create a little gift set to give out when you needed a handmade gift. I personally believe that cards and card gift sets are a great handmade gift that you can give to someone. We all need cards to send out so making a set of them and giving them as a gift is perfect.
I used the same products for each card but simply changed up the colors to have a variety in my little gift set that now was the end result with this design. So, I picked Thick Basic White Cardstock as the base for all my cards. And picked the subtle family of ink and cardstock as the other colors for each card. As I mentioned before this project can be created with one simple 2 3/4" x 3" piece of colored cardstock a 1" x 5 1/2" piece of Designer Series Paper and some matching stamps and ink. Each card was created the exact same way as you will see in the video tutorial below. And I used all the same supplies. I knew what my card base was going to be, and what colors I wanted to use to create my projects. But I needed to decide on a little Designer Series Paper and stamps. I picked the Peony Garden Designer Series Paper one because it had a floral theme and it matched one of the stamp sets I was leaning toward. And two it was had very subtle imagery that was in one color without a lot of overdone patterns. The paper was simple enough that it would not overtake the subtle simple stamping I had planned.
Beauty blooms as plush peonies and sophisticated marble accents unite. This paper has images of peonies from bud to bloom, as well as all-occasion designs in subtle colors. The colors and designs are beautiful as they are, or you can infuse them with color using Stampin’ Blends. This papercrafting staple is great scrapbook paper, card making paper, and more!
I picked two stamp sets to work with for all my cards. I picked the Prized Peony Stamp Set for its graceful touches and its Distinktive style. And the Heal Your Heart Stamp Set for the font and sentiments. I thought that the sentiments were perfect for a gift set.

Each card was created in the exact same way. But I changed up the color ink to match the color cardstock that I placed on each card. I also changed up the sentiment on each picking one of the larger sentiments from the Heal Your Heart Stamp set. I stamped the sentiment on each in full strength Gray Granite Ink onto the colored cardstock.
