January 2021 Blogging Friends Blog Hop - Sale-A-Bration Time Come On ~ Rick Adkins

Hello and welcome to my blog; and the first Blogging Friends Blog Hop of the New Year! Yay, it's 2021 hopefully this year will be much better than the last. This month our theme was Sale-a-bration Time Come On! And that's because Sale-a-bration is only a few days away from kicking off and we wanted to showcase some of the items in this year's Sale-a-bration for you. So, I know that you will see a lot of the items offered during Sale-a-bration which runs from January 5, 2021 - February 28, 2021. Let's get into the fun, shall we?

Sale-A-Bration:

Okay, Let me talk a little about this year's Sale-A-Bration and what's different for those that know what Sale-A-Bration is and I will talk to those that don't about what Sale-A-Bration is too. Sale-A-Bration is the BIGGEST time of the year for Stampin' Up! it's a time that they celebrate you for purchasing by giving you FREE stamps, designer series paper, etc. You earn them by making qualifying purchases in my Online Store. There are two levels. Level One is with a $50 order (before taxes and shipping) and Level Two is a $100 order (before taxes and shipping). And you pick something in those levels from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure. Easy Peasy you get rewarded for shopping!

Here's the difference this year instead of the three months of Sale-A-Bration we have had in the past this year we only have two months, as I mentioned above it will run from January 5, 2021 - February 28, 2021. But, this year we will also have a second Sale-A-Bration in July and August. Yes, you read that correctly we have two Sale-A-Brations this year! Okay now that that is out of the way let's get into my project.

Approaching Perfection Stamp Set:

My card today features the Sale-A-Bration Set Approaching Perfection which is a Birthday Themed Cling Mount Stamp Set (meaning it's a red rubber stamp). My sentiment and the candles you see on my card today both came from the Approaching Perfection Stamp Set. The Approaching Perfection Stamp Set features seven stamps in the set, and two of them are small images (like the candles you see here and one is a little balloon) and five different birthday sentiments in different styles. Some of the sentiments are a little witty and fun. This is a Level One Sale-A-Bration item and can be earned starting January 5th with a $50 order in my online store.

Tips & Tricks:

Now I mentioned many times already how to earn Sale-A-Bration products and I will be sharing all of them with you in the coming days, and weeks. So, hang tight. But, as I was saying I mentioned how you get them so I couldn't give you a card using just the Sale-A-Bration Approaching Perfection Stamp Set without having other items to help you get to that $50 amount on your order so I paired the Approaching Perfection Stamp Set with some items from the 2020-2021 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog and some items from the January-June Mini Catalog also.

I also used the So Much Happy Bundle on my card today as well as the Snail Mail Twine Combo Pack. The Banner die cuts that you see across the White cardstock strip comes from the Happy Dies that match the So Much Happy Stamp Set. I cut two of them out from a scrap of Misty Moonlight Cardstock (that matches my card base) and attached them across the White strip with a little Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The balloon images that you see on my card also come from the So Much Happy Stamp Set and have matching dies in the Happy Dies. I stamped each ballon in Misty Moonlight, Daffodil Delight, Balmy Blue, and Mossy Meadow Inks onto a strip of White Cardstock. I ran them through my Mini Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine (which will be available to everyone on January 5, 2021) with the matching dies. You do have to run the balloons through twice because there is only one of each of the balloon dies. Which is not a big deal because they go so quick. I then attach some of the White twine from the Snail Mail Twine Combo Pack to the back of each balloon with a Mini Glue Dot and a Stampin' Dimensional. I wrapped the ends of the twine behind the card front and secured them in place with a little scotch tape.

I then popped the card front up on my card base with a few Stampin' Dimensionals behind it. You will find the Blog Roll beneath the image below, as well as the Shopping List that I used on my card today. I will tell you that you will not see the Sale-A-Bration items or the January-June Mini Catalog items listed in the shopping list yet because they are not live at this time. Once they are up and live I will try to remember to come back and add them to the shopping list.
