Hello and welcome to my blog; today I have a sweet little card for you that's not only sweet but it's a simple stamping card perfect for a new crafter. This card only uses stamps ink and paper which makes it perfect for someone that's just starting out. I used the Hooray to You Stamp Set which is in the 2020-2021 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog and the 2020-2021 Beginners Brochure too. I showcased the 2020-2022 In Colors as well. Here's a look at my simple stamping card today.

What Makes a Simple Card:

A simple stamping card or card for a beginning crafter is one that uses minimum supplies normally just stamps ink and paper since these items are easy for a new person to get their hands on without a large investment into the craft. For example, my simple birthday card today using the Hooray to You Stamp Set only uses cardstock (thick white, regular white, and Basic Black Cardstocks) the Hooray to You Stamp Set, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad, and the 2020-2022 In Color Stampin' Write Markers. One of my favorite items to suggest to new crafters is purchase the In Color Stampin' Write Markers, they give you five color markers that you can use to stamp with when using cling stamps.

I used the 2020-2022 Stampin' Write Markers to ink up the large birthday balloon and flowers from the stamp set. Stampin’ Write dual-tipped markers have a broad tip for coloring and achieving unique color effects and a fine tip for writing. Our 2020–2022 In Color Marker Assortment includes five markers. The 2020-2022 In Color markers have 1 each of 5 In Colors (Bumblebee, Cinnamon Cider, Just Jade, Magenta Madness, Misty Moonlight). So that means I have five colors that I can use to ink up my stamps. I love to ink up images as in the Hooray for You Stamp Set up with the Stampin' Up! Markers because I can get a multicolored image with just a few supplies. Once I inked up all the images and stamped them on to a piece of White Cardstock I added the card front to a Basic Black Layer.

Once I had the stamped image on the Basic Black mat layer I added it to a Thick White card base. This was such a fun stamp set to use. Its imagery gives a new look to a classic birthday theme. It has a floral theme as well. I also stamped each of the smaller flowers around the card to add more color and floral images to today's card.

To add a little extra to the card I stamped a sub sentiment on a scrap piece of white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I then used my Paper Snips to cut a fishtail banner on one end. I added it to the card front with a Stampin' Dimensional.

Thick White Cardstock - 4 1/4" x 11" scored at 5 1/2"
Basic Black Cardstock - 4" x 5 1/4"
White Cardstock - 3 3/4" x 5", 1/2" x 2"
