Hello and welcome to the Blogging Friends Blog Hop; this month our inspirational theme was April Showers. Which with all the rain we have been having lately was fitting except it was February. I always heard as a child that April Showers Bring May Flowers. So for my card today I went with this saying and am sharing some beautiful roses from the Climbing Roses Stamp Set and a little watercoloring to color them in. Here's a look at my card.
I started out my heat embossing the rose stamp from the set in white stampin emboss powder on watercolor cardstock. I then heat set that and then started coloring with a little watercolor. I started out light and build up layers until I got the desired darkness. After that was dry I then came back in and colored the background.
While the background was still went I flicked on some of the same watercolors colors that I used for the roses. By doing this while in different degree of dampness it changes how the flicked paint will turn out. If it's flicked on while there's a lot of water on the page it will spread more, but as it dries and you flick more on there's not as much water so it dries slower and doesn't spread as much.
Thanks for dropping by today, I hope that you have enjoyed my card and that you will have fun hopping along to see what everyone else came up with. If you are viewing this post on my wordpress site you will need to click here to view the blog roll if not you are able to view the blog roll below.
